Dear Customers and Contacts,
I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying the easing of some restrictions. COVID-19 is still a serious concern and we must take every precaution to prevent a second spike.
With this in mind, we are introducing more precautions into the way we conduct our training, but would still encourage you to complete your training through our e-learning packages
or blended learning
where possible. We have recently included some new short courses to our e-learning portfolio as well as a couple of e-learning courses specific to COVID-19 and staying safe as we get back to work.
Since my last email to you, there has been more guidance on how to deliver our training safely and I will summarise this below. However, the HSE and HSENI have issued separate guidance for first aid qualifications and renewals, as well as information for first aid within a non-healthcare setting. This information can be found at the following links: HSE First Aid C-19
, HSENI C-19
. Importantly, First Aid qualifications that were due for renewal on or after 16 March 2020, will be extended until 30th September 2020.
Some of the safety measures that we have introduced include:
- Pre-course health checks. We must ensure that any delegate is symptom free prior to attending any course. If a delegate turns up for a course feeling unwell they will be refused entry and will not attend the course.
- Hygiene and Distancing. We will ensure that appropriate hand-washing facilities and/or alcohol hand sanitisers are available for delegates throughout the training. Social distancing measures will be in place to maintain 2m separation (or 1m if rules change). Face masks and gloves will also be provided to all delegates. All equipment that is used by delegates will be thoroughly cleaned before and after each use. If we are using your training facilities, we would ask that you can provide the necessary classroom requirements to maintain a safe environment for our staff and your own employees.
- First Aid Training Specific. Where possible, each delegate will be given their own manikin for use during the course. Where this is not possible, each delegate will be given their own manikin lung which will be kept by them for all demonstrations. We will follow the current guidance for practical assessment and demonstrations to avoid personal contact and potential cross contamination.
Finally, we are open for business
, but we understand that some of our clients may still be concerned about participating in group training. Please contact us
if you have any concerns and we will work with you to find a solution and keep you compliant as you get back to work. I will be contacting clients that are overdue renewals directly to discuss arrangements for your renewal.
Thank you for your continued support and please remember to stay safe.
